Distilled water may sound like a complicated term, but it actually is a very simple process of removing impurities from water. It is of high utility in areas and countries where drinkable sources of water are not easily available. Seawater is used in some countries to prepare distilled water, which is fit for drinking. Generally the cost involved with this process is very high; however, solar distillers are gaining rapid popularity across the globe making it an inexpensive deal.

Solar stills or solar distillers employ simple way of using heat from the sun to evaporate water leaving impurities behind and then condensing these vapors to provide distilled water.

The use of distilled water as drinking water can ensure safe and clean drinking water to a large population of the world. Also, it can solve the gigantic problem of various diseases and illness associated with drinking impure water in various parts of the world. This is because the normal tap water or municipality supplied water at most of the times is associated with some impurities.
